The Five NIYAMAS

In Patanjali's Yoga Sutras, the Niyamas are the second limb of the eight limbs of Yoga.

The practice of Niyama helps us maintain a positive environment in which to grow, and gives us the self-discipline and inner-strength necessary to progress along the path of yoga.

The Five NIYAMAS are:

~Self-Purification (Shaucha)
~Contentment (Santosha)
~Self-Discipline (Tapas)
~Self-Study (Svadhyaya)
~Self-Surrender (Ishvara Pranidhana)
