What does Brahmacharya mean?

~Brahmacharya~ What does Brahmacharya mean? The fourth of the Yamas, Brahmacharya, is often translated as ‘celibacy’ or ‘chastity’, which doesn’t always make for a very popular Yama…! The word Brahmacharya actually translates as ‘behaviour which leads to Brahman’. Brahman is thought of as ‘the creator’ in Hinduism and Yogic terms, so what we’re basically talking about here is behaviour which leads us towards ‘the divine’ or ‘higher power’. Regarding Brahmacharya as ‘right use of energy’ leads us to consider how we actually use and direct our energy. Brahmacharya also evokes a sense of directing our energy away from external desires – you know, those pleasures which seem great at the time but are ultimately fleeting – and instead, towards finding peace and happiness within ourselves.. . #brahmacharya #fourth_niyama #happiness #pleasures #desires #sense #energy #divine #patanjali #sutras #power #positivity #love #peace #yogatoursindia

YAMA- "ASTEYA" Asteya literally means “non-stealing”

YAMA- "ASTEYA" Asteya literally means “non-stealing”, yet another example of a yama that appears to be fairly straightforward. However, the interpretation of this yama can be expanded to include not only the act of stealing, but the very desire to steal. The stronger the desire to steal, the more permissible this act becomes. Once you have convinced yourself that the acquisition of something by dishonest means is acceptable, you are better able to shed the guilt associated with stealing, and are thus more likely to do it. . . www.yogatoursindia.in . #limbs #yama #asteya #non_stealing #patanjali #yoga #yogalove #yogaroutine #love #yogapath #knowledge #yogaknowledge #yogajourney #yogaguru #yogaaddiction #yogatoursindia

When you realize how perfect ....

"When you realize how perfect everything is you will tilt your head back and laugh at the sky. This quote is symbolic of the irony of realizing that enlightenment is nothing more than a direct experiencing of reality. And of course once you have done all the work needed to clear your mind of obstructions, it becomes exceedingly easy to maintain clarity. A perfect ‘enlightened’ experience is also a perfectly accurate experience of reality. Pose of the day : ~Makarasana~

Pose of the day : ~Makarasana~ Makarasana or the Crocodile Pose is a yoga asana. The pose resembles a crocodile taking rest in water, keeping its face and neck above the surface water level. Makarasana straightens and stretches the muscles of the rear, buttocks, legs, and also the back of the arms and legs. The purpose of Makarasana is to release the strain caused by practicing other yoga asanas, and it is, therefore, the best way to end a yoga session. . . . . www.yogatoursindia.in #makarasana #crocodile #crocodile_pose #legs #stretching #yoga #yogaflow #yogalove #yogaroutine #yogaguru #yogajourney #love #peace #yogatree #yogaforeveryone #yogaeveryday #yogaeverydamnday #yogagram #yogascience #yogatours #yogatoursindia

Without health life is not life; it is only a state of langour and suffering – an image of death. A regular yoga practice can help offset the damage of sitting all day.

Hunching over a desk often leads to tight hips and legs, a weak core, and imbalances in your neck, upper back and chest muscles. And due to our collective reliance on keyboards, screens and smartphones, we’re also more susceptible to bad posture: overly rounded shoulders and a protruding neck.  A regular yoga practice can help offset the damage of sitting all day. #stress #stretch #practice #yogapractice #yogaflow #yogalove #yogaeveryday #yogaeverydamnday #yogaguru #yogaforeverywhere #yogapath #yogabenefits #yogatoursindia www.yogatoursindia.in

The Five NIYAMAS

In Patanjali's Yoga Sutras, the Niyamas are the second limb of the eight limbs of Yoga. The practice of Niyama helps us maintain a positive environment in which to grow, and gives us the self-discipline and inner-strength necessary to progress along the path of yoga.
